Overall Thoughts

Being a part of a family who passes down the things they have grown up with has certainly had an impact on my life. The community of Plainview, too, has certainly had an impact with the past traditions coming back to life with Frontier Day. Sadly, I have watched some of the best traditions die, such as the Plainview-Rover Panthers. However, I know that there are those of us who graduated from Plainview as a panther, and I know that I will pass down the stories of my high school to my kids that they they understand how lives can change and a community's tradition can be torn down. However, I know that the Two-Rivers Gators are beginning their own traditions, and I hope that those are allowed to stay strong. I hope to begin to understand my life better, and I will try to apply "participant observation" to the things that I do and the way that I live in the future.
