Personal Traditions

The most prominent personal transition that I have is being a part of the ATU Computer Club. The club is dedicated to gaming, computers, technology, and bettering the futures of each member. We attend recycling fairs, go on tours at potential future work places, and participate in small campus events, usually promotional. The most prominent events of the Computer Club are the LAN parties.

LAN stands for Local Area Network. We create a network for a large room and essentially the computers are "hooked" together and we play games with each other. Here are some screen shots I have taken of some of the games I have played with other members:

This game is called Minecraft. You mine blocks from the ground and you build things with it. The blocky look is the intentional style of the game. This image is comedic because "Tenkitsune" is graphically glitched and it looks like she is not riding the pig. (A glitch is a hiccup caused by code or a lagging system). I was introduced to this game by my sister, but the Computer Club's environment and members encouraged me to play more. Today, many Computer Club members have played this game throughout the year. This may become a traditional game, of sorts.

A very classic and traditional game that is always played at every LAN Party is called League of Legends. It is a tactical game where a team has to defend their "base" while destroying the enemy's "base" at the same time. It is free to play, but some extra elements cost money. Nearly every member of the computer club today plays this game, and many tournaments have been held regarding this game. I personally can not think of a single semester where this game has not been a big game, and I have been a member of the club for two years. This is a true tradition in our club.
